Breakdown Maintenance :
It is done on a trouble auto vehicle when it arrives at garage.
The first work is measure the defect & how to rectify it. If the repairing of component to their safe limits is not possible they are replaced. Method of trouble shooting are discussed for main types of defects:
1. Cylinder head bolts tightening sequence.
2. Cylinder block reboring & oversized piston.
D= P+C -H
Where,
D= Cylinder bore diameter after boring
P= oversized piston diameter
C=Clearance (0.03 to 0.065)
H= Allowance for having (0.03 mm or less)
