Role of Integrity in Human Values
The dictionary meaning of integrity is the quality of being honest and morally upright. It is the state of being whole or unified. The integrity is an act of honesty.There is a close relationship between integrity and honesty. The consistent honest behaviour develops integrity in an individual. The moral of honesty results in integrity. The person is said to be having human value of integrity when his behaviour and action matches. He does what he says. There is no contradiction between what he says and what he does.
Integrity helps the other person to predict your behaviour and action. If there is consistency in what you say and what you do , people will have belief in you. Lack of integrity, results in unpredictable behaviour and action. Mahatma Gandhi did what he preached. For example in the office you observe your boss always coming late and insisting on others in the office to come before time or on time. He order fine for coming late. What value you give to his orders ? Some people set example by their action. Don't talk about cost cutting and cost optimization to the rank and file and then fly business class or stay in 5 star hotels.
This value will helps the engineers to gain confidence from management and help them to move up the ladder. All the organizations are looking for this values in employees.
